Brief History

The tale of King Scott and Queen Rosalie goes way back before Long Beach even sprouted along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mardi Gras parties have been the talk of European history, getting tied to the pre-Ash Wednesday bashes since Pope Gregory shook up the calendar in the year 600. Fast forward to Mardi Gras Day in 1699, when French explorer Iberville pitched camp near the mouth of the Mississippi River and christened the spot Point du Mardi Gras. Just a hop, skip, and a jump away in 1704, the party kicked off in Mobile, Alabama.

Our Focus

Education

Teaching children today allows for a brighter future, one in which they can both learn and teach.

Charity

By 1979 the organization had spread coast-wide and became officially incorporated by obtaining chartered status as legitimate tax-exempt charitable organization.

Community

It takes an entire community to raise a child. Once that community is formed, anything can be achieved.
